In The Beginning
Whenever I feel a sense of not being as achieved as I'd like, or in a state of feeling as though I'm not serving my purpose; I'll either start a new devotion or I'll go to the beginning of the Bible and read the first chapter and book of Genesis.
Starting at the beginning helps me feel as though I'm getting a fresh start or new opportunity to gain a different perspective or interpretation of a passage that I've read plenty of times. I do the same thing with movies that I love, why not with the word of God?
Reading verse 9-12 in the Genesis 1, we are discovering creation and how our world is created; how God is designing this earth. Water and land have been formed, and now God has spoke vegetation for seed bearing plants into existence and trees that grow seed bearing fruit. Water and land have to exist for there to be these plants and trees; God intended and has planned for continuation of life with the seeds and the plants that are seed bearing, and trees that will continue to grow seed bearing fruit.
Jumping to chapter 2 verse 8Then the Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east, and there he placed the man he had made. I am visualising God planting Adam (the man) into the garden. Please hold on tight as my thoughts ran wild, I was beginning to wonder if we are a form of tree bearing fruit or seed bearing plant. We are made in the image of God. It says so in chapter 1 27So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Could this be the exact moment that shows man is a reflection of God our creator? The verse itself is a reflection. I was wondering why it was saying the same thing twice ,or in reverse, but then I realised that it was actually a flip of perspective. There's symmetry here, and there is a mirrored image.
